The Writer

Vicky Pinner has recently graduated from a Batchelor of Arts with Honours in Imaginative Writing at Liverpool John Moores University. She lives in Liverpool.
Vicky was brought up on the North Yorkshire, Lancashire border, which is a heavy influence on her work. She began writing as a child and her decision to study at degree level has been life changing. She said of the experience: ‘I used to just write down my ideas and forget about them. Now my writing has direction.'
She has run creative writing workshops for adults and children around the North West and acted as a student mentor in her final two years at university.
In 2007, Vicky won the Yorkshire Television Prize for Student Achievement based on her documentary 'Dying by the Road.' She was also co-presenter of the breakfast show on Craven College FM in the same year. Vicky has performed at poetry events in Liverpool organised by The Rialto and In the Red, the latter earning her the Open Mic Prize and publication of her poem 'The Scarf Game' in the magazine’s eighth issue in May 2010, available nationwide.

Upcoming Projects
Vicky is currently designing a workshop for Hellifield Writer's group, where she will be running guest sessions every few months. She is currently working on magazine and competition submissions, so watch out for early drafts of her new work on this blog.
